Sorry for the delay. It's just been too gorgeous outside all week and I have been spending most of my time out and about. Here is a really quick seven track fix to get ya through the weekend. A lot of it is in instrumental form, so if that is your style I think you will love some of the deeper cuts. News: Unreleased Jimi Hendrix music soon to be released

Just so you're caught up on upcoming releases, in exactly one month there will be new and unheard Jimi Hendrix material unleashed upon the music world. For the first time, this "lost" material of a proposed follow up to Electric Ladyland will be released as a posthumous album entitled People, Hell And Angels. While the album is still slated for a March 5th released date in the U.S., there is still no word on when the record will drop in the U.K. or internationally.

This will be the 12th studio album released since Jimi's death in 1970 at the age of 27, and the 4th release under a deal with Legacy Recordings. What is notable about this upcoming release is the supposed deviation from the music style Jimi practiced over his professional career. Those who have listened to the recording has said that he experimented with other sounds beyond his regular staple of guitar, bass, and percussion. People, Hell And Angles is said to use more horns, keyboards, and extra guitars in some of the tracks, and while it wouldn't be the first time he has used different instruments and sounds, any new Hendrix material is worth a listen.

Shuffled #42: Whatever

I have some crazy plans for Shuffled, but that will have to wait till next episode. Right now, work is kicking my ass, which means longer hours of sitting at the desk job. For the time being, enjoy this randomly generated playlist of sorts, or whatever.

Listen: Civil Civic release new track titled 'New!'

Civil Civic remain the only reason I have an IndieGogo account (though Z World Detroit is a real contender for reason #2), and I liked the album they delivered using the funds from their successful campaign enough to put them on this list. So, news of a new song called "New!" was surely exciting for me! Sadly, it's not new new, just unreleased new (Alright, I'm banning the word 'new' from this post as of now). It didn't make the cut for their debut LP, Rules.

Still, it's a fun track and I'm slightly confused why it wasn't included in the first place. As there were many previously-released tracks on the album, this one would have helped sway the numbers toward having more fresh, unreleased songs.

Shuffled #33: Deep Heaven Then and Now Interview with Jinsen Lui

It happened again... The second guitar sacrifice in Ghost Box Orchestra's set at the P.A.'s Lounge. "I'm sorry, but that's it. We've ran out of guitars," apologized guitarist Jeremy Lassetter as he overlooked two battered and string-less guitars. As few people began to trickle out of the venue, suddenly a wild third guitar appeared out of the crowd! "I promise not to break this one," said Lassetter and proceeded to rock the fuck out for one more song.

Such is the nature of the current Deep Heaven Now music festival held twice a year in the spring and fall. For two nights between two separate venues, bands from across the New England area, and some from beyond, blast heavy doses of ear splitting shoegaze, experimental, ambient, and psychedelic rock. While compared to higher profile music festivals, this one is very low key. Still, for the amount of music that is played over two days, complete with visuals and effects, it takes quite an undertaking to bring all of this together. Just before everything kicked off last Friday, I spoke with founder Jinsen Lui on a busy corner at Union Square. Enjoy this quick talk about the history of Deep Heaven Now and where it is now, featuring a slice of music of artists from this springs festivities and some from years past.

This week we take a listen north of the border and sample some tracks from our neighbors in Canada. We've featured many Canuck's here on Shuffled before: FM, Barenaked Ladies, Rush, Klaatu to name a few. There's a lot of material that comes from our friends up north, and while this playlist doesn't have the likes of Arcade Fire or Neil Young, you may just find something new here to like.
