Video Round-Up: Goodbye to Politics Edition

Video Round-Up is a weekly post collecting an assortment of videos from around the web. Whether they be music videos, creative viral marketing, just plain cool, or just plain ridiculous, they will all be found on Video Round-Up.

Aaaah, the political season is over. Finally we can watch TV without suffering through a commercial break full of campaign ads. To help bid adieu to those suffocating ads, I've decided to start things off with a video that showcases just how badly all of that pep and drive can turn out when you get a little over-zealous in that campaign. It should help us segue nicely out of politics and into ridiculousness -- albeit in a slightly scary way.

Man, why is this guy bothering with becoming Treasurer? He should be President! Imagine if he was the President. Canada? Ours. Mexico? Ours. The rest of the world? Oh, don't worry. We're coming.

Apparently the new Internet meme going around YouTube is replacing the audio of live band performances with your own, very shitty version. This seems like it could be extremely hilarious, or completely stupid. I love The Mars Volta, but their on stage meandering and improvisation lends themselves perfectly to some good-old fashioned Internet trolling. My favorite part is the "Mary Had a Little Lamb" sax solo. It makes me laugh every time.

I don't know about you, but I am super excited to see Conan back on TV tonight. And since I've been hearing Leno's rating have been terrible, I'm praying Conan's will come along and crush his. So I'm just doing my part by making sure you've seen Episode Zero, and plan on tuning into TBS tonight at 11. Do it!

Here's my normal Paper Chase filler. Consider this your test -- If you find this song unlistenable, you probably won't enjoy much of their music. Personally I love the dissonance and almost grating nature of this song. I think it really helps convey a dark and disturbing atmosphere.

I've never seen the shitty audio refill meme. But I definitely laughed out loud.
