Video Round-Up: Art & Science Edition

Video Round-Up is a weekly post collecting an assortment of videos from around the web. Whether they be music videos, creative viral marketing, just plain cool, or just plain ridiculous, they will all be found on Video Round-Up.

In this week's Round-Up the worlds of art and science come together! Well, if me featuring videos of them next to each other means "coming together."

There's probably a difference between an "artist" and a "hobbyist." If so, this guy would define it. He clearly didn't create this toothpick monstrosity to be accepted in the art community, he made it because he enjoyed doing it. That is abundantly obvious when you see how gleeful he is to show it off to people, and that makes me smile as well.

Once we're out of school, we don't often take the time to learn about the things we use everyday unless knowing how they work is directly related to our day job. Rectify that mistake by watching this video that gives you a better idea of how the actual microwaves inside of a microwave move.

Now that we've learned a little bit about how microwaves work, let's find out what happens when you put weird things inside of them.

Olly Moss -- known amongst the gaming community for his designs to go with each episode of Robert Ashley's A Life Well Wasted podcast -- has a penchant for extremely clever, graphic-design-styled pieces. He recently had his first solo art showcase in California and took the opportunity to create 300-something silhouetted profiles of beloved or obscure characters from an assortment of different forms of media. Even just watching this video multiple times you notice something new that makes you laugh constantly, so I can only imagine being in that room with them all.
