Batman Was Silly Part 17: The Final Cover

Well ladies and gentleman, it seems as though my resource of silly Batman covers has run out. It's had a good run though. I can still see the look on Batman's face all those times his identity was almost uncovered by a bunch of random zany characters (including his aunt). All of the random places Batman and Robin visited (the jungle for example). The very helpful thought bubbles explaining what the hell is going on in the scene on the cover (like when Batman was all grown up, yet still wearing his batsuit). And who could forget those covers that had nothing to do with any story (Batman and Robin penny-farthing anyone?). And last but not least all of the strange creatures that have invaded Gotham (a large furry insect like monster with flippers for example). As much as I hate to not have any more covers to share with you all, keep an eye out for more possible Silly shenanigans. Also if you have any ideas regarding Sillyness feel free to post them in the comments.

Batman was Silly Part 16: Caveman at Large

What better way to cure a hangover from some 4th of July celebrations than with a new silly Batman cover? If your answer was drink lots of water and take an advil or two than you are probably right. But this is a close runner up. This weeks cover deals with a reoccurring theme of cavemen or at least prehistoric doings. Except this time Batman and Robin are at least in their own time period. We are also reminded of the time period when these comics were made and how this country was a lot less sensitive towards racial profiling. I mean, what, just because he's a caveman he automatically finds caves wherever he goes? Tisk tisk DC comics. I expected more out of you. Just make sure those wanna-be cavemen from Geico don't see this.

Batman Was Silly Part 15: The Batman Puppet!

This weeks cover we yet again realize the importance of thought bubbles. Without it we would all just think that Batman was painting himself without his mask, but was disgusted with how it was turning out. I dig the abstract background he decided to paint behind him. I'd like to know how this whole painting session was set up. I never imagined Batman as a painter. I figured more of a sculptor.

"Let's give this happy face a happy nose. It also needs two friends. Let's give him to friendly eyes to see with. Isn't that beautiful?"

Batman Was Silly Part 14: Owlman!

This weeks cover shows us, again, how important thought bubbles are. I find it more funny to read what the man driving is saying first, then "Owlman's" thought bubble. The story card says that Robin was involved in some strange experiment which aged him. Hmmm..... I think Robin is spending too much time with his long pal Manny Ramirez now that Ramirez has some time away from baseball.

Batman Was Silly Part 13: Batman's Identity Revealed

This weeks cover is a doosie! Forget all of the evil villains who try with grand schemes to uncover who that Batman is. All it takes is Bruce Wayne's aunt Agatha to finally reveal who Batman is. No grand scheme here. Just a simple old woman trying to figure out who this crazy costumed person who was hitting these poor young theifs is. Now my question is that if his identity becomes revealed so early on, why is it such a mystery throughout all of the Batman series? I'm thinking he breaks his code of conduct and kills aunt Agatha and the two robbers. Anything to save his identity.

Batman Was Silly Part 12: Caveman Batman

Well ladies and gentlemen, it's that time of the week again. Apologies for it being a day late. But this weeks brings us back in time to when Batman and Robin lived amongst Neanderthals and helped fight whatever crime there was back then. Not only did Batman and Robin evolve much faster than us normal Homosapiens, but they were also able create handy gadgets and costumes for themselves. Batman was never a fan of the loin cloth. However, Robin was apprehensive about making
his cover more of his groin region and wearing a shirt. He eventually got used to it. Also they seemed to be fighting alongside a possible missing link. Could anthropologists around the world be wrong in thinking that we evolved from apes?! Batman and Robin are seen here with the missing link between tigers and humans! I knew it wasn't weird that I only clean myself by licking myself.

Batman Was Silly Part 11: Infinite Batman and Robin

Back after an extremely long unwanted hiatus, I have returned and I bring more silliness. This week's show's how the idea's for their covers is made.

"Gee Willikers Batman! I'm tripping the fuck out!"

Batman Was Silly Part 10: The Monstrous Beast

This weeks cover brings another return of the Bat-Hound. We first saw Bat-Hound nearly giving away Batman's secret identity. Now we see him protecting some not-so-scary looking monstrous beast. Also the very touchy scientific ethics topic of killing monstrous beasts on the spot is brought up. Why is Bat-Hound protecting this beast? Could he also know Batman's secret identity and Bat-Hound needs him for more proof? Or does Bat-Hound not believe in the killing of monstrous beasts for science?

Batman Was Silly Part 9: Rip Van Batman

We return after a week absence and this weeks cover gives us a glimpse of the future and answers the question: What will happen when Bruce Wayne is old and starts listening to ZZ Top? The thing I love about these silly Batman covers is that there is usually someone around to tell us just what the hell is going on. And if not we are left to come up with our own theories. This apparently is the first time Batman has even heard that there is a new Batman and Robin team. Not only that but the old Batman is still walking around in his Batsuit and his mask can accomidate his beard. And thus the sillyness continues.

Batman Was Silly Part 8: The Curious Case of Batman Button

This weeks might be the most silliest to date. Not only is Batman a baby, but he is a well built 5 year old looking baby. I can't imagine what caused him to decline in age, I can only assume it was due to Robin being tired of his younger "boy" image. However it's still Bat-Baby........and Robin. Sorry Robin. You will always be behind Batman when people yell "Look it's...." Even if Batman is 10 years younger and 3 feet smaller.

Batman Was Silly Part 7: Breaking the Fourth Wall

This weeks cover is not really as stupid as the rest. I actually found it kind of cool. And plus the gray and blue batsuit was my favorite.

Batman Was Silly Part 6: Big Buisness Punch

This weeks cover is a strange one. There's no writing on it to give the reader a clue as to what is going on. It almost looks like a political cartoon without any labels telling people what things represent. I'm guessing it's some type of big business owner. Is Bruce Wayne a hypocrite?

"Terrific work Robin! A punch in that location will send his nose bone straight into his brain killing him instantly! Luckily the circus was in town and let us borrow their high flyin' seesaw."

Batman Was Silly. Part 5: The Jungle Batman?

In this week's cover we sadly see that Robin is mauled to death by a Black Panther in the jungle. I'm just wondering what kind of crime they could be fighting in the jungle. Tarzan raping unsuspecting apes?

Batman and Robin are starting to realize the hard way that the concrete jungle is the only place they belong.
